WINTERPORT – Robin Marie (Rancourt) Reynolds, 57, of Winterport passed away on Oct. 4, 2013, after a long battle with a rare cancer.
She was predeceased by her mother, Dora Rancourt; her father, Kenneth Rancourt Sr.; and his wife, Loretta; as well as a grandchild, Robert Julian Reynolds. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert L. Reynolds; children, Rose Anne Reynolds and boyfriend, Matt Shaw, of Winterport; son, Michael Joseph Reynolds and girlfriend, Jessica Marsh, and her sons, Dominic and Bryant, of Bangor; and grandson, Gage Michael Reynolds and fiancée, Abby Danforth, of Carmel; as well as many other extended family, including stepgrandchildren, Tamara and Teigan. She is also survived by two brothers, Kenneth Rancourt Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Frankfort, and Michael Rancourt and his wife, Charlotte, of Wasilla, Alaska; and three sisters, Jeanne Caron and her husband, Michael, of Winterport, Joy Rancourt of Winterport and Margo Richmond of Winterport, and their children.
Robin loved muscle cars and auto racing, was a popular and successful drag racer at Winterport Dragway for many years, and served several terms as Secretary of Winterport Dragway Association. She also enjoyed kayaking, walking and snow-shoeing, and other various hobbies such as archery, pistol target shooting, jewelry crafting, quilting, cake decorating and dried flower arranging. Robin’s most recent job was as Deputy City Clerk for Belfast for nearly 16 years. Prior to that she worked in banks, and moved around the country with her husband, Bob, who was in the Marine Corps for 20 years. When faced with her terminal illness, she tried to keep a positive outlook and believe in our Lord Jesus. She came to realize the most important things in life are family and friends, especially her supportive and loving husband, Bob.
Family and friends are invited to visit 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, with David Moore officiating. Interment will be private at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
