Bangor police Lt. Paul Edwards said the victim reported a vehicle stopped, a man got out and physically assaulted her.

Edwards noted that traffic was heavy at the time, and police don’t have very many clues.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen a dark colored vehicle parked on the side of Hancock Street between 6:30-7 a.m. to contact Detective Larry Morrill at 947-7382. The anonymous tip line can be used by pressing extension 6.
