LITTLETON – Richard W. Pratt, 85, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Maine Veterans Home in Caribou. He was born July 9, 1928, in Williamsport, Pa., the son of Frank and Anna (Monks) Pratt.
Richard served in the Army and retired from the Air Force after 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans and served as State Commander for the DAV.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Deborah Kinney and her husband, Ralph, of Bridgewater; sons, Richard Pratt and his wife, Claudia, of Blaine, Glenwood Pratt of Lewiston and John Pratt of New Hampshire; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Pratt of Pennsylvania and Mary Edge of NB, Canada; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by close friends and neighbors, Don, Leo, Marie, and Wynetta, all of Littleton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Muriel Alice Beek Pratt; sister, Kay (Pratt) O’Connel; and brother, Thomas Pratt.
Friends may call at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 15, at United Baptist Church of Littleton, 1395 U.S. Hwy 1, Littleton, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steven Straubel officiating. Interment with military honors will be held following the service at Smith Cemetery, Bridgewater. Following the committal, there will be a reception at the Bridgewater Civic Building.
