LUBEC – William Parker Jr. “Bill”, 67, left us quietly and peacefully to be with his mother and father, Oct. 5, 2013. Bill was born July 5, 1946, to the late Kathlene and William Parker Sr. Bill was one of four children.
He attended Sunrise Workshop for 40 years. His mother Kay Parker was instrumental along with other parents in getting a day program for mentally challenged who at that time were now allowed to attend regular school. Billy had a life full of love and laughter, thanks to a family and community who accepted and included him.
He is survived by two sisters, Catherine Hersey, and Ellen Woodworth; brothers-in-law, Sidney Hughes, and Robert Hersey Sr.; and three nephews, Derek Adams, Robert Hersey Jr., and Vincent Hersey.
A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Sacred Heart Church, Lubec, with the very Rev. Eugene Gaffey Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Kay Parker Fund, care of the Kay Parker Building, P.O. Box 88, Machias, ME 04654.
