FALLS CHURCH, Va. and BANGOR – William P. Milliken, 65, died unexpectedly Sept. 21, 2013, at his home. He was born Nov. 22, 1947, in Bangor, son of Robert and Catherine M. (Maloney) Milliken.
Bill was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1966, and the University of Maine class of 1970. He began his career as a civilian working for the U.S. Army, in Philadelphia, then moved to Boston, lastly ending his career in Falls Church, Va.
Bill enjoyed reading and watching his two favorite sports teams, the Redskins and the Red Sox.
Surviving are one sister, Ann Perry and her partner, Floyd Neal, of Dixmont; nephews, Michael Perry of Lucerne, and Thomas Perry and his partner, Brenda McCue, of Old Town; great-nephews, Dylan Leighton, Kyle McCue, and Jack Perry; two aunts, Sister Margaret Maloney of Flushing, N.Y., and Mabelle Milliken of Tolland, Conn.; and his cousins. He is also survived by his close friends, Mark Maynard and his wife, Linda, of Bangor, Lynne Wakefield and John and Kathleen Leber of Virginia.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, relatives and friends are invited to call 1 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Mount. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery.
