WALDOBORO, Maine — Two men and a teenage boy were arrested on Saturday night in an Oxycodone bust in Lincoln County, police said.
James Chamberlain, 39, of Waldoboro, Louis Atkinson, 24, of Greene and a 17-year old Waldoboro boy are all accused of trafficking in schedule W drugs, according to Department of Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
The teen’s name was not disclosed because he is a minor.
The trio were nabbed as Chamberlain and Atkinson were in the process of selling drugs to the teenager along Route 1 in Waldoboro, according to McCausland.
A search of Chamberlain’s vehicle turned up a loaded 9mm handgun, 342 Oxycodone pills and $1,500 in suspected drug money, McCausland said. An investigation determined Atkinson had been bringing the drugs from New York City to Maine with intent to distribute in Lincoln County.
The street value of the seized drugs is more than $15,000.
Chamberlain and Atkinson were transported to Twin Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, where Chamberlain is being held without bail and Atkinson on $25,000 cash bail. The teen received a summons to court. Waldoboro police, the Maine Warden Service and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.
