ROCKLAND, Maine — A dentist is being sued for allegedly breaching a contract to buy the practice of a deceased dentist in Thomaston.
The lawsuit on behalf of the estate of the late Craig Leidenroth was filed Oct. 15 in Knox County Superior Court against Jeffrey Jordan of Portland and his corporation, Jeffrey Jordan, DMD, P.A.
Leidenroth, who died in November 2008, had owned and operated Maine Coast Family Dentistry and Implant Center in Thomaston.
Jordan agreed to purchase Leidenroth’s dental practice in Thomaston in July 2009, according to the lawsuit. Part of the agreement called for Jordan to rent the Main Street space where the practice had operated.
The lawsuit claims that Jordan owes nearly $93,000 on a promissory note for the purchase of the business and failed to pay taxes and utilities of nearly $5,000 as was part of the lease agreement.
The Leidenroth estate is represented by attorney Chad Cloutier.
A woman who answered the phone at Maine Coast Family Dentistry on Tuesday morning said Jordan was with a patient. She returned the call a short while later and said he had no comment.
