PRESQUE ISLE and LIMESTONE – Freda O. Durepo, 90, passed away on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born May 10, 1923, in Caribou, the daughter of Albion and Louise (Hanson) Edstrand.
She enjoyed a long and fulfilled life through raising her loving family and being known as “Nana” by her family and the many children she cared for in her home daycare.
Freda is survived by her children and their spouses, Jeffrey and Marlene Durpeo of Limestone, Gary and Frances Durpeo of Othello, Wash., Paul and Patricia Durpeo of Limestone, Connie and Larry Addington of Limestone, and Claudia and Thomas Stevens of Mapleton. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Edstrand of Caribou; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Freda was predeceased by her husband, Jasper Durepo; and her siblings, Avis Dalghren, Arlene Ackerson, Naida Michaud, and Marvin Edstrand. The family would like to express its sincere appreciation for the love and care she received at Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center.
Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Limestone Methodist Church. Interment will follow services at Advent Cemetery, Limestone. A reception will follow interment at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the House of Comfort, P.O.
