HOULTON – Michael L. Blanchard, 53, died unexpectedly October 22, 2013 at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 12, 1960 at Rumford, the son of Henry G. Blanchard and Germaine Blouin.
Michael graduated from Rumford High School, Class of 1978 and was a graduate of Northern Maine Tech., was employed with Gardner Nursing Home for many years, also ProTec Online and for the last nine years a has been a sales consultant for Dunn Furniture Company. Mike enjoyed doing yard work but his greatest love was taking care of his grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sue (Silliboy) Blanchard, his daughter, Amy Suitter and her husband, Robert, Jr., two grandchildren, Hailey Sue and Robert Eric Suitter, all of Houlton; two brothers, George Blanchard and his wife, Faith of Rumford, Leo Blanchard and his wife, Patty of Rochester, NY; his mother-in-law, Roberta Silliboy; several special brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews; special nephew, Jared and Alice Crouse of Hampden. He was predeceased by his parents, father in law, Joe Silliboy, Sr. and brother-in-law, Harry Silliboy. A very special thank you to the staff in the Cardiac Care Unit at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
A private funeral service will be held at the Dunn Funeral Home. Graveside services will be announced at a later date. Gifts may be made in Michael’s memory to the Michael L.
