BANGOR, Maine — The city’s winter parking regulations will take effect on Friday and run through March 31, police announced Monday.
Sgt. Cathy Rumsey announced the parking regulations in a statement.
Vehicles may not be parked on a public street or parking area between midnight and 6 a.m., and cars may be ticketed or towed.
Also, parking is only allowed on one side of streets. For example, on the odd-numbered days of each month, cars must park on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses. Vehicles may be ticketed for violating this regulation.
The final regulation is that vehicles cannot be parked on a public street or area in which snowplowing or snow removing is taking place. Tow fees are a minimum of $65 per vehicle.
Police will issue warnings for the first few weeks but tickets will be issued after that.
