WESTFIELD, Mass. – Constance (Hungerford) Hanson, 69, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born in Oneonta, N.Y., to the late Elmer and Vera (Collier) Hungerford.
She lived in Westfield, Mass., for many years and lived most recently in Old Town. She was a graduate and member of the Honor Society of the Husson College School of Nursing. Connie was employed as a registered nurse at Acadia Hospital in Bangor for the last 15 years and previously had worked at the Monson Developmental Center for 20 years. She was a member of the American Psychiatric Nursing Society and the American Nurses Association. Connie loved working and spending time with the kids at Acadia. She was well respected and loved by all of her coworkers. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and making goodies for everyone.
She is survived by her daughter, Alissa Heath and her husband, Randy; and a grandson, Joseph; her husband, Paul of Old Town and his children and their families; a brother, Norman Hungerford of New Jersey; and five nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by an infant son; and her sister, Shirley Vargason.
A graveside service will be held for Connie in Oneonta, N.Y., in the spring. There are no calling hours. Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield, Mass., is in charge of arrangements.
