NEWPORT AND PITTSFIELD – Albertine Pelkey, 80, died October 31, 2013 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born January 27, 1933 in Patten, a daughter of Henry and Dora (Shorette) Pelkey.
She was very active in fraternal organizations, including the East Piscataquis and East Somerset Pomona, the Central Grange, a past member of Eastville Grange #462 in East Newport, the Ladies of The Orient, International Association of Turtles, the Victoria Rebekah Lodge #74 of Newport and the Waverly Rebekahs. She also was a member of the Burns W. Knowlton American Legion Auxiliary, the H. G. Libby Womens Relief Corps #65, and the Newport Church of God.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 6, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with the Rev. Buddy Gough officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
