WINTERPORT – Edwina H. Fletcher
Winterport – Edwina H. Fletcher, 103, wife of the late Henry “Cliff”. Fletcher, died Nov. 1, 2013 at her home in Winterport. She was born Oct. 27, 1910 in Winterport, the daughter of Albert L. and Eleanor (Howe) Hackett.
Edwina was a graduate of Winterport high School, class of 1928. She worked as a nurse for many years prior to operating her own boarding home. She was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church, Winterport and was the holder of the Boston Post Cane as the oldest resident of Winterport.
Surviving are two daughters, Eleanor Rhoades and her husband, Donald and Linda Montgomery allof Winterport; one daughter-in-law, Arthelene Hammond of Rockwood; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband in 2000 and by two sons, Donald and William Hammond.
A service honoring Edwina’s life will be held 11 AM Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor with Pastor Thomas Channell, presiding. Family and friends may visit from 10 AM until the service begins. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
