BANGOR, Maine — A local man who is no stranger to Bangor police was arrested on Sunday after he was allegedly found urinating in a local park.

Brandy Laws, 38, also had clonidine pills on him at the time of his arrest, resulting in a felony charge of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, Bangor police Sgt. Cathy Rumsey said.

Earlier Sunday, officers had issued Laws a disorderly conduct warning, but he apparently did not listen, Rumsey said.

Police received a complaint that a man who turned out to be Laws was relieving himself in the park and threatening to fight people, the sergeant said.

Laws was charged with disorderly conduct and the aforementioned drug charge and brought to Penobscot County Jail. He was later released on bail.

In July 2012, Laws was arrested outside the Penobscot Pour House after he allegedly got into a scuffle with police outside the establishment. Laws had been asked to leave repeatedly by bar staff.
