SOUTH CHINA, Maine — A small camper trailer and a vehicle were destroyed by fire Tuesday morning, officials said.

The trailer was located on Beach Lane, a dirt road off Route 32, according to South China Fire Chief Richard Morse.

Morse said the woman who was staying in the trailer was warming up her vehicle when the fire started. He said firefighters weren’t sure if anything was wrong with the vehicle.

The fire broke out around 8 a.m. Tuesday, the chief said. Firefighters from South China, China, Leech Mills and Vassalboro were able to contain it rather quickly.

Both the trailer and the vehicle were destroyed, but the woman was not injured, Morse said. A cause was not determined.
