BOYNTON BEACH Fla., and HOLDEN – Joyce Cameron Coutts passed away Nov. 10, 2013, in Boynton Beach, Fla., after a brief illness. She was born in Auburn and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1947. She was predeceased by her parents, Allan and Mary Jane Cameron.
Joyce and her husband lived in Bangor and Holden for many years where she raised her family. She was very active in volunteerism and fundraising and served as a board member for numerous civic and charitable organizations in the Bangor area before retiring and moving to Florida with her husband for the winters. She was an avid and accomplished golfer and enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Carlyle Coutts; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Mary Cameron of Auburn; son and daughter-in-law, Carl Stephen and Christine Coutts of Holden; son and daughter-in-law, David M. Coutts and Barbara Coutts of Douglas, Mass.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Maine Special Olympics, www.specialolympicsmaine.org, an organization that was near and dear to her. A private service for the family will be held in the spring at the Coutts’ home in Holden.
