MILFORD – Michael C. Raymond, 67, died Nov. 9, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept 7, 1946, in Caribou, a son of Gordon and Thelma (Rackliffe) Raymond.
Michael proudly served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Following his discharge, he used his GI Bill and was a 1972 graduate of EMVTI, Bangor. He spent his entire working life as an electrician and worked at various employers but especially enjoyed his time at St. Joseph Hospital and the Air National Guard. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with friends at family at hunting camp in Atkinson. The weekend nights were spent at Happy Acres, Alton, sharing many good times and good music. He enjoyed woodworking and wood carving and will certainly be remembered for his various animal carving especially waterfowl. Above all else, Michael, was a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by a longtime companion, Carol Pencak of Milford; two children, Jonathan Raymond and wife, Donna, of Biddeford, and Melanie Watson and companion, Saul Gideon, of Exeter; six grandchildren, Aaron Martel, Sarah Martel, Abigail Raymond, Emma Raymond, Mark Watson, and Matthew Watson; two sisters, Sharon Morin and her husband, Joe, of Milford, and Jennine Quinn and her companion, Doug Downs; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Saundra “Sandy” Sherburne.
A celebration of life will be conducted noon-3 p.m. Saturday, at Happy Acres, Bennoch Road, Alton. Private burial services with military honors will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Notes of condolences may be left at www.birminghamfuneralhome.com.
