LINCOLN and BANGOR – Pearl R. Hurd, 86, passed away at a Bangor nursing facility on Nov. 14, 2013, after a short illness. She was born Oct. 9, 1927, at her grandparents home on Pleasant Street in Lincoln to Madaline and Herschel Hawkins.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a lifelong resident of Lincoln until her move to Bangor to live with her daughter in 2009.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ginn of Bangor; son, Darrell Hurd Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Lincoln; granddaughter, Angela Coffin of Hampden; grandson, Chad Hurd and wife, Kate, of Atlanta; granddaughter, Holly McLellan and husband, Andy, of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Artie, Tyler, Eliza, and Audrie; and brother, Alan Hawkins and wife, Margaret, of South Portland. She was predeceased by her husband, Darrell Hurd Sr.; brothers, Donald and James Hawkins; and her parents.
In keeping with Pearl’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. There will be a graveside service 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at South Lincoln Cemetery.
