CORINNA – Harold “Bub” David Glidden, 70, died peacefully with his loving family by his side on Nov. 20, 2013, at a Pittsfield nursing center after a long illness. He was born March 7, 1943, in Patten, a son of Elwood and Pauline (Hanson) Glidden. He married the former Judith Botting on July 27, 1962, and they were married for 51 years.
Bub was employed by Arctic Energy in Corinth for many years delivering oil and working in the office dispatching. He worked many years cutting wood and driving trucks for different individuals throughout his life. He loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, brook fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He will be remembered for his sharp wit, his sense of humor and his beautiful smirk.
He is survived by his loving wife of Corinna; three daughters, Rhonda and husband, Michael Smith Sr., of Corinth, Sheree and husband, Troy Brown, of Moscow, and Julie and husband, Chris Sothen, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; a brother, Elwood Glidden Jr. and his girlfriend, Jolie, of Corinth; a sister, Carolyn and husband, James Mahon, of Bangor; five grandsons, Chad Towle of Corinna, Michael Smith Jr. of Corinth, David Smith of Bangor, C.J. Sothen of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., and Joshua Brown of Moscow; one granddaughter, Kristen and husband, Neil Catapano, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; one great-granddaughter, Audrey Rose Catapano; and many nieces and nephews; as well as a hunting buddy, Kenneth Towle. He was predeceased by his parents; a son, David; and a sister Judy.
The family would like to thank his caregivers at EMMC and Pittsfield Rehab and Nursing for the loving care he was given in his final days.
Private burial will be at Clark’s Hill Cemetery, Stetson, at a later date. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
