BANGOR, Maine — No new information was available Thursday afternoon regarding a suspicious package found in Pickering Square on Wednesday night, according to police.
Police are not disclosing what the suspicious package was.
The package was located after a bomb threat shut down Pickering Square on Wednesday evening.
Officers responded to the area shortly after 7 p.m., prompting closure of several streets, along with temporary closures of area businesses, including Nocturnem, the Waverly and the 4:20 shop. The businesses reopened around 9 p.m.
The package was found near the Pickering Square pay phone near the Kenduskeag Stream footbridge.
The incident remains under investigation.
