VINALHAVEN – G. Brenton Creelman III, 83, passed away peacefully Nov. 20, 2013, at his home on Vinalhaven. He was born Jan. 8, 1930, in Arlington, Mass., to Gilmore and Alice Miller Creelman.
Brenton graduated from Harvard in 1952, then served in the U.S. Navy for four years as Gunnery Officer on the U.S.S. Warrington. He graduated from Harvard Business School in 1957. In 1976, Brenton founded the Boston-based accounting firm of Creelman & Smith, P.C. In 1988 he moved to Thomaston with his wife, Gillian, to whom he was married in 1983. In 2000, Brenton and Gillian moved to Vinalhaven.
Brenton is survived by his wife, Gillian; daughter, Libby Creelman of St. John’s, NL; and son, Andy Creelman and his wife, Erin, of Vinalhaven.
