HOULTON, Maine — Police have located a Houlton man who was reported missing Thursday morning.
Houlton Police Chief Butch Asselin said late Thursday evening that Jeffrey Swimm, 34, who had not been seen since 1:30 a.m. Thursday, was located just after 8 p.m. in Exeter.
“He is safe and fine,” said Asselin. “Police are interviewing him.”
The department had been seeking Swimm in regards to his well-being after family and friends had not heard from him and contacted police with their concerns.
A statewide alert for Swimm had been issued to law enforcement agencies across the state, according to the chief, but has now been cancelled.
