CARIBOU – Rudolph “Rudy” C. Zagranis, 64, passed away at his residence, Dec. 5, 2013. He was born June 23, 1949, in Amesbury, Mass., the son of Rudolph and Stella Zagranis.
Rudy served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his service, he worked for International Paper Company for 19 years and then at the Maine Military Authority for 13 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Johnston) Zagranis, of Caribou; a son, Mark Zagranis of Presque Isle; a daughter, Karlyn Zagranis of Caribou; two brothers, John Zagranis and his wife, Janet, of Montana, and David Zagranis of Massachusetts; a sister, Carol Cameron and her husband, Jack, of Massachusetts; two grandchildren that were the love of his life, Rhiannon and Alice; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Linda.
Friends may call 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, where funeral services will be held 11a.m. Interment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
