HOULTON – Ruth P. Holmes, 77, died Dec. 8, 2013, with her family at her side. She was born June 26, 1936, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Bernard and Esther (Lane) Patton.
Ruth was a graduate of Presque Isle High School, class of 1955. She was retired from Aroostook County government offices after 26 years.
She is survived by her three children, Russell Holmes and his wife, Lori Mailman, of Phoenix, Rene McGillicuddy of Houlton, and Bernie Holmes and his wife, Suzette, of Houlton; grandchildren, Allen and his wife, Amanda Holmes, Jessica Holmes, Shelby Fitzpatrick, Michael and Aaron Holmes; great-grandchildren, Jaxyn Fitzpatrick, and Aiden Holmes; a sister, A. Gertrude Lovely of Presque Isle; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Geraldine and her husband, John Blalack; and brother, Bernard Patton Jr. and his wife, Phyllis.
