WINTERPORT – Joyce A. Palmer, 77, passed away Dec. 18, 2013, at a Belfast nursing facility after a long illness. Joyce was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Old Town, the daughter of Albert and Myrtie (Bowley) Sawyer.
Joyce lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all she was a devoted wife and mother. She felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was her family. Joyce will be remembered as a loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Joyce is survived by her loving children, Rose DeGennaro of Ellsworth, Arthur Palmer, Cheryl Wallace and husband, Ernie, Otis Palmer, and Robert Palmer, all of Winterport; her brother, Larry Sawyer and wife, Barbara, of Winterport; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; her significant other and longtime friend who was by her side through everything, Frank Larry; her feline companion, Babe; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Millard Palmer; a daughter, Millie Brown; a grandson, Peter DeGennaro; and eight siblings.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
