AUGUSTA, Maine — The state’s attorney general is alerting consumers about a man with a history of defrauding customers who apparently has moved to Maine.

Richard Myers, who ran a home repair business in Massachusetts, was found to have a long record of defrauding customers, Attorney General Janet Mills said.

Mills said the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office had taken repeated actions against Myers, according to a 2012 statement.

Myers was ordered to pay more than $700,000 in fees and consumer restitution in Massachusetts in 2011.

Mills’ office has been contacted by a local law enforcement agency in Cumberland County to report they have received a complaint about Myers’ business activities. He could be operating anywhere in the state.
