NEWPORT – Sara J. Norris, 62, died Dec. 20, 2013 at a Boston hospital. Sara is now at rest. Sara was born in Rumford, Aug. 24, 1951, the daughter of Priscilla Hunt. She was educated in schools of Canaan and Skowhegan.
Sara married Carl M. Norris in Canaan, Aug. 13, 1971. They have made their home in Newport. Sara’s family was the most important part of her life. She always looked forward to having her children and especially her grandchildren around her. Family get- togethers and holidays were always very special to her.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Carl M. Norris of Newport, her daughter and husband, Stephanie and Jeffrey Charters of Newport, her son and his wife, Christopher and Stephanie Norris of Newport, two sisters, Sheila Hunt of Canaan, Susan Marshall of Canaan, five grandchildren; Joshua, Taylor, Mikayla, Cole, and Cooper, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be remembered by Carl’s family. Sara was predeceased by her mother and a sister, Sherrill Hunt.
Family and friends may gather at Carl and Sara’s home, 272 Stetson Road, Newpor,t from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, for a time of fellowship with the family. In lieu of flowers friends who wish may make memorial donations to D.C.I. Dialysis Unit, 27 Research Drive, Skowhegan, ME 04976.
