PRESQUE ISLE – Neale G. Buck, 80 passed away on Sunday December 29, 2013 at Cary Medical Center in Caribou. He was born on May 13, 1933 in Bangor, the son of Chester Buck and Iris (Bryson) Tuttle.
Neale served two years in the U.S. Army in France and Germany. He was a graduate of University of Maine, Gorham, and State Teachers College in Presque Isle. He taught Industrial Arts at SAD#1 and also served as Vocational Director for a number of years, retiring after 33 years. Neale owned and operated Buck’s Market and Mapleton Market for a number of years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved working in his wood pile, and loved his camp at Squa Pan Lake.
He is survived by his wife Maxine (Shaw) Buck of Presque Isle, his seven children and their spouses; Susan and Dave Blanchard of Gray, Dale Buck and his partner Ann Randall of Presque Isle, Rhonda and Todd Embelton of Squa Pan Lake, Lorraine and Michael Bochman of New Bedford, Mass., Dana and Penny Buck of Presque Isle, Kathleen and Alan Clair of Squa Pan Lake, Priscilla and Philip Roberts of Bennington, NH. 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Neale is predeceased by his parents and brothers David, Harley and Leigh.
Friends may call 12 Noon, Thurs, January 2, 2014 until time of service at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held at 2 PM with the Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Spring interment with Military honors will be at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery, Presque Isle.
