ELLSWORTH, Maine — An Ellsworth woman was charged with assault after allegedly biting the face of her boyfriend’s 10-year-old son, according to Lt. Harold Page of the Ellsworth Police Department.

Crystal Fortier, 33, called the police on Wednesday because the boy was acting out, Page said. The police transported him to the emergency room, where bite marks were noticed on his face.

Officer Shawn Willey of the Ellsworth Police Department investigated further and as a result, Fortier admitted to biting the boy, according to Page. She told police that he bit her first. Fortier was later issued a summons.
