BREWER, Maine — Brewer police and sheriff’s deputies were called to a Brewer motel late Wednesday for a report that turned out to be false.
Lt. Chris Martin said information was provided to officers that two people were being held against their will at a Wilson Street motel.
“The information provided to officers was determined to be false,” Martin said.
The involved parties were not at the hotel, according to Martin, and nobody was being threatened.
Police continue to investigate the matter further, and criminal charges are anticipated, Martin said.
