OLD TOWN, Maine — A family of three lost everything Sunday evening when their mobile home was gutted by fire, officials said.
Old Town Fire Chief Steve O’Malley said Monday that the fire was so significant, there was little crews could do.
“There was no chance of an interior attack,” O’Malley said.
Fortunately, the homeowners had gotten out safely by the time firefighters had arrived at Regency Trailer Park.
The blaze was called in shortly before midnight, according to O’Malley. Flames were spewing through the roof when firefighters arrived.
“The biggest thing is they all got out,” O’Malley said.
Old Town, Orono, Milford, Bradley, Bangor and University of Maine crews responded to the fire, while Bradley covered Old Town’s station.
A cause has yet to be determined, and the Red Cross is aiding the family with donations.
