TOPSHAM, Maine — A car slid off Foreside Road in Topsham on Sunday afternoon and crashed into a house.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred just after 3 p.m. Sunday, according to Topsham Police Chief Christopher Lewis.

Gregory McDonnell, 29, of Greenhaven, Ariz., was driving a 2009 Mazda too fast for road conditions when he smashed into the building, Lewis said. The crash damaged the home’s siding and knocked the owner off his couch, he added.

The police chief said blown snow was visible on the road.

He noted that McDonnell did not appear to be intoxicated, and no criminal charges are pending.

The car was towed after sustaining damage to its front bumper and grill.
