CHINA, Maine — Police responding to a call reporting screams at a China home Jan. 27 didn’t find a domestic violence situation, as a neighbor had feared when she called 911 to report the noise.
The Kennebec Journal reports that instead, four Maine state troopers arrived to find a happy male pig. The homeowner raises pigs, and as the newspaper quotes from the police report, she told police “her male pig was screaming because he was in a pen with five other female pigs in heat.”
Police found no disturbance “other than the screaming male pig,” the report said.
