SANFORD, Maine — A local man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly held up a bank at gunpoint earlier that afternoon, police said.
Clint Deming, 29, robbed the Sanford Institution for Savings on Main Street around 2:30 p.m. with an undisclosed type of firearm, Sanford Deputy Chief Tim Strout said.
After demanding money from a teller and threatening the teller with his weapon, Deming fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Investigative efforts led police to Deming, and at 6:15 p.m., he was taken into custody without incident outside his residence, the deputy chief said.
Deming was brought to York County Jail, where he remained Thursday on $25,000 bail.
