BRUNSWICK, Maine — Snowy conditions Wednesday night contributed to a head-on collision on Gurnet Road that sent three people to local hospitals, police said.
Nathan Harley, 17, of Harpswell was headed south on Gurnet Road near the intersection of Antietam Street just after 9:30 p.m. when the 1999 Volkswagen he was driving slid into a northbound 1996 Buick driven by 21-year-old Gordon Renell of Arundel, according to Capt. Mark Waltz of the Brunswick Police Department.
Harley was traveling too fast for road conditions, Waltz said.
Harley, his 15-year-old passenger, Shane Pennell of Harpswell, and Renell were taken by ambulance to local hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Gurnet Road was closed for approximately an hour while crews cleared the scene.
