AUGUSTA, Maine — A Central Maine Power project will slow Maine Turnpike traffic over the course of this week.

Crews will be installing new transmission lines across the turnpike near mile marker 105 Monday through Thursday. Traffic will be affected in both directions.

The work will require traffic disruptions in 20-minute intervals between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. each evening. CMP officials have coordinated with the Maine Turnpike Authority and state police.

Troopers will be on scene each evening to ensure safety, and message boards will be in place on the road.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
