BANGOR, Maine — Police are investigating a reported stabbing that occurred at a Deer Isle Road residence on Tuesday evening.
Bangor police Sgt. Cathy Rumsey said police were summoned to Capehart at 10:40 p.m. when it was reported a person had been stabbed.
Officers arrived to find a woman with a stab wound, and she was subsequently brought to a local hospital where she was treated and released.
While at the scene, police came in contact with 24-year-old Brandon Kerr, Rumsey said.
Police learned Kerr had a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear on a 2011 theft charge, and he was taken into custody. His arrest was unrelated to the stabbing call.
The assault remains under investigation.
