ELLSWORTH, Maine — A man and a woman are facing drug trafficking charges after police executed a search warrant Thursday at their home on Bucksport Road, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Logan Sara Hanson, 23, and Justin Wayne Pinkham, 24, were arrested Thursday night on charges of trafficking in heroin, a Class B offense. Police seized approximately 10 grams of heroin, 116 grams of processed marijuana and $1,200 in cash as a result of the search, MDEA Commander Peter Arno wrote in a prepared statement.

The search warrant was obtained and executed after undercover agents allegedly made several purchases of heroin at the residence, Arno said.

Both Hanson and Pinkham remained at the Hancock County Jail in Ellsworth on Friday afternoon. Hanson is being held on bail of $5,000 cash or $25,000 surety. Pinkham also has been charged with violating conditions of release, which stems from an earlier charge of possession of a firearm by a felon, and so is being held without bail, officials said.

Class B crimes are felony offenses in Maine, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Ellsworth Police Department and Hancock County Sheriff’s Department assisted MDEA officers in the drug bust.
