LINCOLN, Maine — A traveling nurse from the Chicago area was fired from a nursing home on Mattanawcook Terrace after police said they issued her a summons Monday for stealing drugs from a patient.
Cheryl Jehn, 48, who had been staying at an apartment on Main Street, was cited for stealing drugs, a misdemeanor, Public Safety Director Dan Summers said.
Workers at Colonial Health Care called police at about 10 p.m. Sunday to report a possible theft. Nurses there said they first noticed Jehn slurring her words and stumbling, then found that 41 cubic centimeters of Lorazepam, a Schedule Z drug, were missing, Summers said.
Jehn allegedly confessed to stealing the drugs during an interview with Officer Anthony Redmond on Monday, Summers said.
She was released on a promise to appear in Lincoln District Court on April 8, and was fired from her job, Summers said.
