BANGOR, Maine — An autopsy has yet to be completed on a man found dead Thursday, but police said Friday the death is not suspicious.

Bangor police Lt. Tim Reid said authorities have identified the man whose body was found near Walmart on Stillwater Avenue on Thursday morning, but are not disclosing the man’s name until an autopsy is completed.

Reid said it’s possible the state medical examiner’s office could wait until Monday to conduct an autopsy and determine a cause of death.

The body was found by a passerby in a snowbank near at 8:56 a.m. Thursday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
