WINSLOW, Maine — Two men were assaulted with weapons in Winslow early Friday morning and police are searching for suspects.

Winslow police Sgt. Haley Fleming said officers were dispatched to Poulin Street around 4:30 a.m. for an assault report.

Fleming said police learned two men had been assaulted with a blunt-force weapon and one of them also was stabbed.

The man who was stabbed was taken by ambulance to a local hospital before being airlifted by LifeFlight helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland. The other man was not hospitalized.

Fleming said police believe three suspects were responsible for the attack, and they may have fled in a green vehicle. No other description of the vehicle was disclosed.

Waterville police assisted Winslow at the scene, according to Fleming.

“It was very chaotic,” the sergeant said.

Anyone with information on the case should call Winslow police at 872-5215.
