AUBURN, Maine — A 38-year-old local magazine publisher was arrested at his Auburn home Thursday morning on a child pornogarphy charge, police said.

Joshua Shea, who lives with his wife and two children, is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on one count of child pornography possession, Maine State Police Spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

Police had generated information from tips that Shea had sexually explicit materials on his computer, according to McCausland.

The computer was seized and will be analyzed by computer crimes unit officials, McCausland said. Inspection of the computer showed hundreds of images of child pornography, he said.

Shea, the publisher of Lewiston Auburn Magazine, is prohibited from having contact with children under age 12 per his bail conditions, McCausland said.

Shea will make his first court appearance on May 1.
