FREEPORT, Maine — A 31-year-old man has been charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief after allegedly breaking into the Mediterranean Grille late Saturday night.
Joshua A. Wing of Freeport was running away from the restaurant on School Street when officers responding to an alarm caught up with him, Freeport police Lt. Susan Nourse said Wednesday.
Wing’s foot impressions matched footprints found at the scene, Nourse said.
Officers found about $150 of liquor on the restaurant steps, she said, and damage to a window and interior door was estimated at $500.
Wing was arraigned Monday and released on bail, according to Nourse. The amount of his bail was not available Wednesday.
