SCARBOROUGH, Maine — A 46-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital Friday after being struck by a vehicle on Route 1, police said.

The woman, whose name was not disclosed, was crossing the road at the Hannaford Drive intersection shortly after 11 a.m. when she was struck by a northbound sedan driven by Dorothea Orlando, 51, of Cumberland, according to Scarborough police Officer John Gill.

The victim’s injuries aren’t considered to be life-threatening, Gill said.

The woman was brought to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment, the officer said.

No charges have been filed and the case remains under investigation.
