CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts — The Boston College Eagles took a four-run lead and then held off the Maine Black Bears for a 4-3 softball victory Thursday.
BC (30-19) tallied the first run of the game when Taylor Coroneos’ groundout to third allowed Jessie Daulton to score in the second.
The Eagles added a run in the home half of the fourth on Alana DiMaso’s leadoff home run and added two more runs in the fifth.
The Black Bears (17-18) rallied in the sixth with three runs. With two outs and runners at the corners, EmJ Fogel smacked a double to score Jessica Burk and Felicia Lennon. Jean Stevens’ single then plated Fogel.
Hannah Hill (8-5) suffered the loss for Maine as she gave up three earned runs on eight hits while striking out four.
Maine closes out its regular season season with a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Friday at Bryant.
