BAR HARBOR, Maine — Multiple parked cars were damaged Wednesday morning in a municipal parking lot when a delivery truck snagged a power line and pulled a pole over, according to a local police dispatcher.

Sharon Worcester of the Bar Harbor Police Department said the incident occurred around 10:30 Wednesday morning. She said “a few cars” were hit by the falling pole but that she was unsure how many.

“Nobody’s injured, thankfully,” Worcester said.

Local police officers, as well as workers from Emera Maine and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, all were at the scene, she said. Oil inside a power transformer on the pole spilled when the pole fell over, prompting the DEP response, she said.

Worcester said Rodick Street was closed to traffic while work crews clean up the mess and repair the damage.
