ROCKLAND, Maine — Police and emergency medical crews received a report Wednesday night that a pedestrian had been hit on Route 1 by a vehicle that did not stop.
On Thursday morning, Deputy Rockland Police Chief Wally Tower said the investigation is continuing.
A passing motorist found the woman in a ditch next to the Salvation Army building. The woman told police she had been hit by a vehicle. The woman was not injured, Tower said.
Route 1 was reduced to one lane for about 15 minutes while emergency crews were at the scene.
No other information was being released.
