PORTLAND, Maine — A New Hampshire man who participated in a string of robberies last fall will serve four years and nine months in prison.
Marvin Eugene Ansteth Jr., 41, of Somersworth, New Hampshire, was sentenced Thursday at the U.S. District Court in Portland, U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II said Friday.
Ansteth pleaded guilty on Jan. 16, to robbing People’s United Bank in Exeter, New Hampshire on Oct. 7, 2013; Meredith Village Savings Bank in Alton, New Hampshire on Oct. 10, 2013; and Kennebunk Savings in Eliot on Oct. 19, 2013.
According to court records, Ansteth was the getaway driver for the robberies. People’s United was robbed of $1,451, Meredith Village Savings Bank of $9,740, and Kennebunk Savings of $7,896.
In addition to jail time, Ansteth will serve three years supervised release and pay $19,087 in restitution.
Two accomplices in a string of five robberies were sentenced in April, and a third will be sentenced in June.
Daniel Barry, 38, of Pembroke, New Hampshire, was sentenced to 63 months in prison with five years supervised release. Brianne Mone, 27, of Dover, New Hampshire, was sentenced to 45 months in prison and three years of supervised release, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Don Clark.
Phillip Gage will be sentenced in June for his part in the robberies.
