BANGOR, Maine — A vehicle was swiped from the parking lot of a city hotel on Monday night, resulting in a pursuit, police said.

Officer Jermaine Walker was summoned to the Ramada Inn on Odlin Road around 7:45 p.m. when it was reported a vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot, according to Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton.

Cotton said the victim was checking in at the front desk and went back outside to see his vehicle being driven away.

Within minutes, Penobscot County sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop the car near Dysart’s in Hermon, and the suspect fled into Etna before crashing the car, Cotton said.

The suspect fled the scene and has not been located.
