ACADIA NATIONAL PARK, Maine — An autopsy is being performed on a man whose body was found in a shallow brook under a bridge here, according to a park ranger.
The body of Christian Emigh-Doyle, 23, of Bar Harbor was found Sunday by hikers as they were exploring the national park near Duck Brook Bridge, where the paved Paradise Hill Road passes over the brook between Hulls Cove and the Park Loop Road.
Ranger Richard Rechholtz said Wednesday the body has been transported to the state office of the medical examiner in Augusta to see if a cause of death can be determined.
Rechholtz said Emigh-Doyle’s death remains under investigation. Rangers still are conducting interviews to see what additional information they might come across, he said.
Rechholtz declined to comment on whether Emigh-Doyle’s death is believed to have been an accident, but he and other park officials have said foul play is not suspected. Duck Brook is about 90 feet below the top of the bridge.
